Credibled is revolutionizing hiring with smart, automated reference checks. To extend their platform’s reach, we built a Google Meet add-on that brings their tools directly into video calls allowing interviewers to manage reference checks in real time without leaving the meeting.
MEET THE CLIENT
Credibled is a modern hiring intelligence platform that helps companies make faster, smarter hiring decisions by automating reference checks. As their product matured, the team at Credibled saw a major opportunity to bring their reference-checking capabilities directly into Google Meet allowing hiring managers and recruiters to initiate and manage candidate reference checks within the call itself. That’s where we came in. At DevFortress, we partnered with Credibled to architect, develop, and launch a powerful Google Workspace add-on that mirrors their platform while maintaining a seamless user experience.
THE CHALLENGE
Credibled’s goal was clear: embed their existing reference check experience into Google Meet without sacrificing performance, branding, or functionality. The challenge, however, was multifaceted. We needed to keep the user interface consistent with the existing Credibled web app, ensure real-time responsiveness inside the add-on environment, and build a backend robust enough to capture sessions, lead information, and data all while staying lightweight and secure. Most importantly, the solution had to feel native to Google Meet, with zero friction and no learning curve.
SOLUTION & RESULTS
We approached the project with a streamlined tech stack designed for speed, scalability, and seamless integration. On the frontend, we used Vite and React to build a fast, modular experience. By embedding Credibled’s existing web application inside an iframe, we ensured the add-on preserved their branding and UX, allowing users to interact with their reference-checking platform exactly as they would on the web.
For the backend, we created a Node.js + Express API, paired with MongoDB, to handle authentication, user sessions, and lead capture. This system allowed us to persist key data like user names and emails while remaining fully compatible with any CRM or analytics tools Credibled might choose to integrate down the line.
To support real-time communication between users and the embedded tool, we implemented WebSockets, enabling instant, lag-free interactions within the Google Meet interface. The end result is a high-performance, embedded solution that gives recruiters the power of Credibled’s platform right where they need it most inside the interview itself.
The Credibled Google Meet add-on is now live in the Google Workspace Marketplace, helping hiring teams streamline reference checks without ever leaving the call.
