DevFortress was brought on to overhaul and enhance the functionality of ShipAid, a Shopify app providing e-commerce merchants with a comprehensive shipping protection solution. This app allows Shopify sellers to offer assurances against lost, stolen, or damaged shipments, while enabling them to keep the premiums charged at checkout.
Our team stepped in after ShipAid’s previous development partner faced significant challenges in maintaining and expanding the app’s functionality. We not only resolved numerous existing bugs but also developed critical new features to improve the user experience for both merchants and their customers.

ShipAid is a Shopify platform application that enables online merchants to provide protection against delivery issues such as lost or damaged orders, all while retaining control over claims and profits. The solution includes an intuitive customer resolution portal and streamlined claims automation, making it a must-have tool for Shopify store owners seeking to enhance post-purchase experiences for their customers.
THE CHALLENGE
DevFortress was tasked with taking over the project from a previous firm and repairing broken functionalities, supporting existing customers, and onboarding new ones. The challenges included integrating complex claim automation, order editing post-purchase, dashboard enhancements, and First Promoter integration. Moreover, the system needed a robust complaints management feature, bug fixes, and quick responses to issues in production.
Our team leveraged Shopify and ReactJS expertise to deliver a reliable, scalable solution for ShipAid merchants. We extended the app’s capabilities beyond the core features by building systems that integrated with ShipAid’s broader business functionalities, ensuring seamless interaction between various aspects of the solution.
